Screen printing in Thame

Local and hands-on: come see us in Thame to talk it through and watch it printed.
Screen printing is the classic way to print clothing. Ink is pushed through a fine mesh screen onto the garment, one colour at a time, to give a bold, solid print that sits well on the fabric and stands up to plenty of washing.
At Thame Garment Printing we do screen printing in our shop in Thame, so you can see the screens, check the ink colours against your logo and watch the first prints come off the press.
Who it’s for
Screen printing suits businesses ordering staff t-shirts, clubs and schools ordering matching kit, bands and events selling merchandise, and anyone who wants the same design on a batch of garments. Because each colour needs its own screen, it comes into its own on runs rather than single items.
What works well
- Bold logos and text with a small number of solid colours
- Batches of the same design across a range of sizes
- Cotton and cotton-rich t-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts
- Designs that need to last through lots of washes
Pop in – local and quick
Pop in with your design and we will tell you honestly whether screen printing or another method is the better fit. We set up the screens here, so there is no waiting on a factory elsewhere. Turnaround depends on the number of colours and garments; tell us your deadline and we will give you a straight answer.
Questions
Is screen printing good for small orders?
It can be, but setting up screens takes time for each colour, so for one-offs or very small runs we may suggest printed transfers or vinyl cut transfers instead.
How many colours can you screen print?
It depends on the design and garment. Fewer colours usually keeps things simpler; we will talk through your artwork when you pop in.
Will a screen print wash out?
A screen print is cured so it bonds with the fabric. Follow the care advice we give you and it should last well.
